It's been one week since "Opa" (Grandpa in German) passed away. The boys are still struggling to understand what exactly death means & what happened to Grandpa. We did let the boys view Grandpa. I think that's when it finally settled in with Paul. He's been really thinking hard about it. Asking questions about if "Grandpa had pushed Jesus out of his heart & that's why he died" and then "What happens when you push Jesus out of your heart?". They did wonderfully during the funeral - with the exception of having to go potty during the sermon (which is what they normally do every Sunday - when the sermon starts, we feel the need to go). They have asked every day if Grandpa is still dead & if Jesus still has him. Porter keeps asking if Jesus is going to wake him up. My inquisitive boys - I'm glad they're asking questions.
We're also battling upper respiratory infections. I'm home right now with Paul who spiked a fever of 102 at daycare today. I had to take Porter to the Dr last week the day of the visitation because he was running a temp & had a cough. So illness is running through the household again (including myself - sinus infection ugghh!)

questions are good, it means they are processing instead of shutting down. it's hard to answer them as a parent though, isn't it?
hope everyone feels better soon.
Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you all get better soon!
YES, IT IS GOOD THEY ARE ASKING QUESTIONS AND THAT YOU TOOK THEM TO SEE GRANDPA, THE EARLIER THEY GET EXPOSED TO IT THE BETTER THEY SEEM TO UNDERSTAND. DARN IT I WAS HOPING YOU WOULD NOT BE HIT BY ILLNESS FOR A LONG TIME . BUMMER. WELL HOPE EVERYONE GETS BETTER SOON, LOVE YA. CHERYL B
